Why do I ignore you so? Deep down lies a gift, ever present, even when I don't see it; like a rock on the floor of the river.

I carry a pen within. You wait patiently for me to pull you back out and put you to use. You don't even mind if the words I write are clever or not. You just love to be my close companion, crossing over from thoughts to pages. You make the journey with me, however-long it takes.

You help me breathe, express, create...survive.
